IHS CERA is pleased to announce the Southern Cone Energy Executive Roundtable in Rio de Janeiro on November 22nd, 2010.
The Southern Cone Energy roundtable will cover topics that our members most value, including CERA’s analysis on Brazil’s 10 year energy plan, its financial requirements, challenges and the opportunities it will offer to private participants. In addition, the session will include discussions facilitated by the CERA team on possible changes in hydrocarbon policy and its impact on Brazil’s ability to meet its oil and gas development challenge under different political and economic growth scenarios.
The Roundtable will address the following key questions:
- A post election look at what the Energy landscape might look like --will there be new rules? What direction is the new management likely to take and what does it mean for existing and future investors.
- How will the continuation and deepening of current hydrocarbon policy impact the industry?
- What are the likely outcomes under different political and economic growth scenarios?
- Where will the best investment opportunities emerge in Brazilian power sector?
- Will there be a clear path forward for power generation technologies and what role will regulations/ politics have in the decision? What will be the role of thermal generation and other non renewable sources of power?
- What is the extent of the oil&gas offshore development challenge in Brazil? How much materials, equipments and services will it require?
- Does Brazil have the investment resources and infrastructure capacity to meet its ambitious goals?
- How these requirements compare against local industry size and technical level?
