| Surging World Coal Markets | ||||||
7:30 - 8:50 AM
Prices for coal in global markets are at or approaching record highs, as producers struggle to keep pace with rising demand. Compounding the situation have been bottlenecks in the supply chain, which has further constrained the amount of coal available for sale and shipment. The current market differs greatly from that over the previous two decades when coal was plentiful and prices were near the cost of production. Will the current high price levels continue, or will coal markets calm down in the future? To help answer those questions, this breakfast will be led by renowned international coal experts Gerard McCloskey and Colin Gubbins of the McCloskey Group. The McCloskey Group is the leading provider of information and analysis of global coal markets and is the most recent addition to CERA. |
