Dr. Curry, a leading authority on geology and paleoclimatology, will present findings from one of the world's preeminent oceanographic institutions on what is being learned about the new environment of the Arctic. The presentation will focus on the scientific research on the changes in the composition and structure of the Arctic Ocean, the impacts of climate change, and the new approaches and technologies being deployed to observe and analyze this dynamic environment. Dr. Avery will discuss the importance of the Arctic and why it is attracting major attention as a focal point for resources as well as scientific investigation on the future of the global environment.
